SkillUp Career Pathways: Healthcare

May 23, 2021

Did you know? SkillUp has over 10 healthcare training pathways in our network.

The healthcare industry has remained resilient through the pandemic and is seeing continued growth and stability. This is in part due to the shift in patient care needs, the demand for home-based nursing solutions, the demand for clinical trials, and the overall disruption of technology in healthcare systems which leads to new specializations and skill demands.

Healthcare professionals have made a monumental impact in the healthcare industry since the onset of the pandemic.

They have had to juggle providing patient care demands at high volumes, while working long demanding shifts and sacrificing their own health for the wellness of their patients. Additionally they have had to adapt to learning new and emerging technologies. Healthcare professionals have always been essential— and the pandemic unveiled just how much we rely and depend on healthcare professionals.

There are many paths in healthcare ranging from working in a hospital setting (such as nursing, medical assistant, or a specialization such as x-ray technician or surgical technologist), or outside of a hospital/direct patient setting, such as in a laboratory, clinical research, pharmacy tech, or medical billing. Most of these paths do not require a college degree. Healthcare is a certification friendly industry because you can learn a specialization through certified programs that will teach you how to perform the job and understand the fundamentals of the job and focus solely on the specialization at hand in the curriculum.

SkillUp is focused on getting workers trained to work in jobs that are in-demand and will offer career and salary growth.

SkillUp follows the following formula when adding healthcare training pathways to our catalog to ensure we are offering our audience training programs that are guaranteed to add value to your career.

• We look at programs that have a demonstrated record of completion, placement, and earnings

• These programs must lead to skills or a credential that will offer a high market value (meaning you will have skills that are in high demand and have salary growth potential)

• Programs must graduate 80% of learners

•Training programs that show an average annual income increase by $20,000
